Energy Output
Exercise Burn Logic
Use the Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET) system to estimate calories burned across different activities. This method accounts for both intensity and body mass.
What is the MET System?
One MET is defined as the energy you burn while sitting quietly. Activities with a MET of 4 mean you are burning 4 times as much energy as you would at rest. This scientific approach allows us to standardize intensity levels across different body weights.
Low Intensity
MET < 3
Moderate Intensity
MET 3 - 6
High Intensity
MET > 6
